Bachelors of Arts in Business with a Major in Entrepreneurship
Overview
The Bachelors Program in Entrepreneurship intends to provide a dynamic environment for learning and developing entrepreneurial abilities & skill for the potential future entrepreneurs who will contribute to economic growth and development of the economy through developing Management skills, leadership skill, creative and critical thinking, developing effective written, spoken communication & presentation skills, which will be helpful in developing future entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurship program aim is to provide the students:
- With the concepts of business enterprises and Entrepreneurship.
- Economic and academic perspectives of entrepreneurship
- The impact of Entrepreneurs on the economic development of the nation and process of motivating and training individuals to become entrepreneurs.
- It will also help in developing the mind-set of stakeholders towards the Entrepreneurship as a new area of study and how it can be utilized for individual as well as community and national development, which is clearly aligned with the mission and vision of the college.
Goal
To respond to the managerial needs of the Sultanate of Oman by imparting quality under graduate education, developing advanced executive skills and enhancing analytical ability among graduates in order to take up decision making roles in the complex and ever changing world of business and management.
Objectives
The objectives of this program are:
- To provide the students with basic knowledge and skill to analyze the business environment for business potential.
- To develop and strengthen the student’s entrepreneurial ability by motivating them to start new business ventures.
- To develop a strong knowledge base that enables them to be creative and come up with innovative ideas.
- To be able to recognize the importance of values and ethics when they are engaged in entrepreneurial activities.
- To appreciate the role of entrepreneurs and how they can play a role in enhancing their own and others lives.
Graduate Attributes
- Academic Knowledge: comprehensive knowledge and understanding of entrepreneurship concepts and techniques that are recognized internationally.

Academic Plan
The program is spread over four years in eight semesters and the students have to complete 120 credit hours where they have to complete a minimum 30 credit hours of the emphasis area. The other courses the students have to study comprises of management, business, marketing, Human resources, mathematics, economics, accounting computer application in management, English etc which will develop the student analytical, computational, critical and generic skill for their overall development. Student has to also study free electives which they can choose from the various courses offered as per their area of interest; the course on Omani society has also been included as per the norms of the Ministry of Higher Education.
